Artificial Grass Landscapes

It has been a busy summer for DCM Surfaces, one in which we have completed projects in many locations including schools, nurseries, public parks, and retails parks.

One particular installation in Scotland took place at Glasgow Fort Retail Park. A challenging and intricate installation of artificial grass and wet pour that has added a modern, colourful landscape to the pedestrian walkways and car parking area of the retail park.

Main contractor Grace Landscapes Ltd ‘Creating attractive commercial landscapes is something Grace Landscapes Ltd have been doing for many years. We recently secured the contract to develop the commercial landscape at Glasgow Fort Retail Park and asked DCM Surfaces to provide and install an artificial grass surface and rubber wet pour around the decorative furniture and play equipment.

We were confident DCM Surfaces would able to complete the project having worked closely with them and seen their previous work. Their installation teams worked professionally, completed on time and our client was extremely happy with the end results’ said Ricky Whiteman, Senior Estimator at Grace Landscapes.

Artificial grass is ideal for landscaping in public places such as retail parks and community gardens. The grass maintains its appearance all year round providing colour throughout the year and in every season.

'Grace Landscapes Ltd will continue to work with DCM Surfaces on future artificial grass and wet pour surfacing contracts' added Ricky

The artificial grass is porous and does not require mowing or feeding and requires very little maintenance. The surface is soft to touch so can be installed around decorative furniture and play equipment where visitors may walk or play.

When installed as a play surface the grass is placed on a rubber shock pad, this provides an impact absorbing layer suitable for play equipment. Line markings are also available and can help to create imaginative play areas for children to enjoy and learn.

Rubber wet pour can be used to add a vibrant colour, or equally, to blend in with the surrounding landscape. Wet pour is also porous meaning water drains through the surfaces and this too requires little maintenance throughout the year.
