DCM Surfaces had the privilege of being selected to install a safety play surface fronting a new entrance to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital. Nationally Alder Hey is held in very high regard with significant cultural and emotional attachment for many people and families throughout the UK.

The new hospital site has under gone a major transformation bringing together the very latest technologies and interior designs within the facility and spectacular architecture and landscapes surrounding the building.

Changing the imposing nature of a building like a hospital is no easy feat therefore specialist contractors known for completing projects to a very high standard, as well as being able to demonstrate flair and creativity were carefully selected by the developers and trustees.

DCM Surfaces installed their patented wet pour surface, Absorb A Fall, on a childrens play area providing a safe, clean and eye catching place for visitors to play.

The play surface combines a mixture of vibrant blue and green rubber in varying shades designed to complement the exterior of the building and providing. With a climbing frame and netting structure also installed the surface Absorb-a-Fall is the ideal product for the surface.

By using Absorb-a-Fall the play area can be used all year round, the rubber maintains its integrity. The surface is also porous meaning water can drain through and will require minimal maintenance throughout the year.
