Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School
Site Name: Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School
Surface Type: Wetpour, Mulch & Artificial Grass
QEII School is a special school for pupils aged between 4-19 years, with severe learning difficulties. The school offers pupils a positive and supportive learning environment and aim to deliver the best possible education to meet their individual learning needs.
DCM were proud to be part of the project at the SEN school, providing accessible and all-weather safety surfacing in the new sensory play area. DCM installed bright coloured Wetpour to provide an energic feel for the children, Artificial Play Grass for all year-round use and for easy access for wheelchair users and coloured Rubber Mulch in tree pits to brighten up these areas and prevent trip hazards around the bottom of the trees when the children are playing.
The Project Manager at Setter Play commented:
“We have worked with DCM on many outdoor play projects over the years, and turned to them for their expertise in installing EPDM, eco mulch and artificial grass at a large play project we carried out at Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee SEN School in Westminster. The project had a focus on inclusive, accessible and sensory play provisions for their pupils, and involved changing their grass spaces to a variety of different all-weather surfaces to give them year-round access.
From the beginning of the project Tahira and Ben were available to discuss every design and operational detail of the scheme, and were ready to suggest solutions and to facilitate any changes that were needed as the job progressed. Michael and the team on site also actively pushed the works forwarded despite delays caused by the weather, helping us to achieve our projected completion date, and they were also very accommodating with on-site changes requested by the school. The quality of the work is excellent, and the school are overjoyed with their new play scheme, so we would have no hesitation in recommending DCM to anyone.”
