SAND DRESSED PITCH
A type of artificial grass pitch (normally of tufted carpet) where the carpet is sand-filled to within 2 – 3 mm of the top of the pile.

SAND FILLED PITCH
A type of artificial grass pitch (normally of tufted carpet) where the carpet is only partially filled with sand. The sand is to help stabilise the carpet and retain some moisture in the system. The infill is not normally necessary for the playing performance of the surface.

SBR GRANULES

SBR GRANULES
Styrene Butadiene Rubber granules form the base layer of the surface and produce the absorbent properties of the system. 2mm – 6mm SBR granules are made from recycled truck tyres.

STANDARDS

All Impact absorbing surfaces (IAS) should carry a test certificate confirming that the surface has been tested in accordance with procedures set out in BSEN 1177 and BS7188: +A2 2009

STRINGLINE A type of spirit level used for levelling across longer distances. Tightly pulled string can be used to find level ground between two stakes.
