Established in 1995, DCM Surfaces is a multi surfacing national contractor, renowned for its quality and service.

In the 22 years we have been in business, DCM has grown its portfolio of surfacing products. We provide sport, play and decorative gravel surfacing throughout the UK.

Rubber based safety surfaces are designed to cushion the impact of a fall and reduce the severity of an injury. We can advise you on all aspects of safety surfacing, from working out critical fall height measurements to calculating the overall thickness required…

Wet Pour

Polymeric

A granulated rubber crumb safety surface, ideal for areas requiring impact protection such as playgrounds and play areas.

Applications:
Playgrounds, schools, nurseries, sports pitch perimeters, pool surrounds, equestrian, residential, zoos, paths and walkways


Benefits:
• Contours to create shapes and designs
• Suitable for wheelchair users, prams and buggies
• Achieve Critical Fall Heights and safety surface requirements




Material:
Polyurethane bound EPDM wearing course and SBR base course.

Foundations:
Wet pour can be installed onto a prepared hard surface, such as stone (MOT) or macadam. It can also overlay existing wet pour. Critical Fall Heights will vary depending on the sub-base used.

Designed for landscaping where a natural looking material is required for an unusual shaped area such as a tree pit or mound.

Applications:
Playgrounds, schools, nurseries, public play areas, tree pits, paths and walkways.



Benefits:
• Helps to prevent weeds when laid onto a geotextile weed membrane
• Unlike natural bark, there is no risk of degradation, rotting or blowing away
• Suitable for wheelchair users, prams and buggies
• Achieve Critical Fall Heights and safety surface requirements

Material:
Colour coated recycled shredded rubber, bound with polyurethane

Foundations:
Mulch can be installed onto macadam, stone surfaces or directly onto grass. Critical Fall Heights will vary depending on the sub-base used.
A polymeric surface is a 12-15mm EPDM surface with an anti-slip coating and line markings to suit requirements.

Applications:
Playgrounds, multi use game areas, athletic tracks, and sporting arenas



Benefits:
• Anti-slip
• Allows optional line markings for sports
• Moderate shock absorption to reduce impact force when running
• Ideally suited for a variety of sports including tennis, basketball, football, athletics, general sports, recreational training and play

Material:
Polyurethane bound EPDM rubber.


Foundations:
Polymeric is installed onto an open textured macadam surface.

Our decorative gravel-based surfaces provide a contemporary, hard-wearing and low-maintenance finish which is perfect for both domestic and commercial use.

Bound Gravel

As our most popular decorative gravel surface, resin bound delivers a durable, permeable and long-lasting finish.

Applications:
Driveways, paths and walkways, tree pits, car parks, courtyards and heritage gardens.

• Range of colours available
• Permeable / SuDS compliant

Materials:
16-24mm natural aggregate, bound together with a UV or non UV stable resin.

Foundations:
Bound gravel can be installed onto min 50mm AC14 open texture binder course.

A non-porous surface which mimics the appearance of loose gravel, providing a natural looking finish and rough texture.

Applications:
Walkways, footpaths, landscapes, and courtyards


Features and Benefits:
• Mimics the appearance of loose gravel
• Rough texture for a natural appearance
• Not permeable

Materials:
3mm natural aggregate, bonded onto resin.


Foundations:
Bonded gravel can be installed onto a combined surface of min 25mm dense surface course macadam and min 50mm dense binder course.

A low-cost surface which is favoured by those who prefer a natural looking finish.


Applications:
Golf courses, canal paths, and bridleways.

• Ideal where a simple, low-cost path is required

Materials:
50-100mm self-binding gravel

Self binding gravel can be applied onto a prepared sub base, such as stone (MOT).

Foundations:
Artificial grass is laid with a shockpad at a specified depth onto min 50mm AC20/14 macadam
Strong and durable, yet soft and comfortable to touch, providing a safe play area.

• Easy installation
• No muddy feet


Foundations:
Artificial grass can be installed onto a prepared hard surface, such as stone (MOT Type 1) or macadam with a shockpad. Sand can be used as an alternative to the shockpad when applied to MOT Type 1 stone.

A natural looking surface which mimics the appearance of real grass, providing a ‘just-mown’, all-green look.

Foundations:
Artificial grass can be installed onto stone (MOT Type 1) with a layer of a shockpad. Sand can be used as an alternative to the shockpad.

Rubber-Gravel Mix

Rubber-Gravel Mix
Rubber-Gravel Mix is a blend of rubber and stone which provides a particularly firm, durable and porous surface with good grip and resilience for heavy pedestrian traffic areas.

Applications:
Sporting arenas, footpaths, canal and river paths, tree pits, cycle ways, cemetery paths, eco-trails or as a macadam replacement in hard to reach locations such as roof tops

• Porous
• Suitable for wheelchair users, prams and buggies
• Low maintenance
• Suitable for use all year round

Materials:
Rubber and Gravel Mix, bound with a high tensile resin

Foundations:
Rubber-Gravel Mix may be installed onto an existing hard surface such as stone (MOT Type 1).

Macadam

Macadam
Macadam has a wide variety of uses and is commonly seen on roads, car parks, paths and walkways, driveways and playgrounds.

Applications:
Roads, car parks, driveways and courtyards, paths and walkways, school playgrounds and multi use games areas

• Durable and hard wearing
• Low maintenance
• Suitable for heavy traffic
• Long lasting

Construction:
Tarmacadam is a dark, bituminous material which is poured and then subsequently levelled and compacted in order to form the correct gradient. Following installation, the macadam needs to be left to cool for a few hours. It is during this time that the particles bind to form a solid, hard-wearing surface.
