Are there any Health Risks associated with rubber surfacing products?
There is a lot of confusion over recent health scares concerning Rubber in the Sports / Play industry. These concerns have been predominantly raised in the USA & Netherlands and relate wholly to Rubber granules used as “infill” granules for artificial turf pitches.
The material that is used for such infill varies a great deal but the most common type is SBR Rubber which comes from Recycled Car & Truck Tyres. In all cases so far there has been no evidential link between SBR and any illness. In Europe, the levels of chemicals considered “toxic” in car and truck tyres has been carefully monitored for over a decade.
The material we supply is guaranteed to be free of toxic compounds and PAH’s. All of our colours have passed the EN 71-3 TOY TEST.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive documentation confirming that the products that we use are non-toxic and PAH Free including EN 71-3 (Toy Test).
