Southampton Common Paddling Pool

DCM Surfaces were delighted to be part of the refurbishment of a £500,000 state-of-the-art play area.

Southampton Common Paddling Pool, which was designed by Architect Davies White, saw the transformation of the old open air paddling pool into a multi-sensory play park featuring a 7.5 metre-high play tower, two zip lines, a variety of swings and a new active water play installation.

The landscaping contractor approached DCM to provide a porous and hard-wearing safety surfacing which would complement the natural landscape of the Southampton area.

Brown Rubber Mulch was chosen for the works. Laid onto a geotextile weed membrane, the system prevents weeds from growing through, providing a natural looking, all weather, and extremely vandal resistant surface.
