Client: Paul Ainsworth / St Enodoc Hotel
Material: Resin Bound Gravel
Project Overview
The St Enodoc Hotel, a prestigious property owned by renowned chef Paul Ainsworth, required a comprehensive surfacing upgrade across its exterior spaces. With the peak summer hospitality season approaching, the project carried a strict completion deadline of late June. DCM Surfaces was commissioned to deliver a seamless, high-quality finish that would elevate the aesthetic of the grounds while providing durable, slip-resistant performance.
The Solution
To complement the coastal elegance of the property, the “Springtime” Resin Bound Gravel blend was selected for the entire installation. This provided a bright, consistent, and welcoming aesthetic across multiple distinct zones.
To ensure long-term durability and structural integrity, the installation team varied the application depths based on the anticipated traffic and load requirements of each specific area.
Execution and Outcome
The project required precise logistical coordination to lay over 1,500 square meters of material while navigating the varied topography of terraces, pathways, and staircases.
By applying a robust 30mm depth to the vehicle and primary pathway areas, the surface is fully engineered to withstand heavy, load-bearing traffic without compromising the visual finish. The 25mm depth applied to the terraces, stairs, and additional spaces provides a perfectly smooth, accessible surface for hotel guests.
The installation was successfully completed and handed over by the end of June, leaving the St Enodoc Hotel with a pristine, fully modernized exterior ready for the summer season.
