Stonyhurst College Outdoor Surface Upgrades

Stonyhurst College, a prestigious independent school in Lancashire, required extensive surface upgrades to improve the safety, accessibility, and visual appeal of its outdoor spaces. The works included pathways, sports courts, and landscaped areas — all designed to deliver a durable, high-quality finish that complements the school’s historic setting.

DCM Surfaces supplied and installed a series of high-performance surfacing solutions, each tailored to the specific requirements of the site.

The project included over 1,000m² of resin bound gravel, created using a custom blend of decorative aggregates. This surface offers a smooth, attractive finish that is both robust and fully permeable, ensuring long-lasting durability and effective drainage.

An additional 300m² of resin bound gravel in Springtime blend was installed at 18mm depth to create a seamless appearance along the pathways.

DCM also delivered upgrades to the multi-use games area (MUGA), including jet washing 1,600m² of the existing surface and applying a slip-resistant anti-slip coating, complete with line markings for both tennis and netball courts.

The result is a cohesive outdoor environment that combines practicality, performance, and aesthetic excellence — enhancing both recreational and functional spaces across the Stonyhurst College campus.
